How squads work, what counts as proof, and how to get started — answered below.
GENERAL
What is GRIT?
GRIT is an accountability partner network.
You join a small squad (2–8 people), set a weekly goal, and prove you followed through.
Your squad sees it, votes on it, and holds you accountable.
Simple rule: it’s harder to disappear when people notice.
How does each week work?
Weeks run Monday → Sunday (US Eastern).
Each week:
- You set a goal (your number of proofs)
- You upload proof during the week
- Your squad verifies it
- Results drop Sunday night
Then everything resets and a new week starts.
JOIN A SQUAD
How do I join a squad?
You have 2 options:
- 1. 1-Week Squad (Quick Match)
- Tap “1-week squad” → Match
- Instant match
- Temporary squad (close on Sunday and reset weekly)

- available spots

👉 More control, long-term squads
Can I join multiple squads?
No — only 1 squad at a time.
You need to leave your current squad before joining another. But you can have 1 additional 1-week squad at the same time.
What if a squad is full?
You can’t request to join.
Some squads stay small on purpose to keep accountability strong.

Each squad has a leader.
They can:

Their role: keep the squad active and solid

XP is awarded when the week closes.
ACTIVITY & ACCOUNTABILITY
What happens if I go inactive?
You’ll be visible.
- inactivity indicators appear
- squad will notice

- 🟡 24h inactive

support@thegritapp.comBuilt to make you
show up.
We kept running into the same thing.
Set goals, start strong, then slowly drift and tell ourselves we’d restart next week.
It wasn’t a discipline problem.
Nothing was holding it in place. When no one sees what you’re doing, it’s easy to let things slide and move on.
What changed wasn’t a better plan.
Just not doing it alone. A small group, one goal for the week, and actually showing up. The goal stayed the same — disappearing wasn’t as easy anymore.
The shift
People are far more likely to achieve their goal when someone else expects it. You don't need the stat — you feel it almost immediately.
Most squads that last aren't more motivated.
They just don't let things go quiet.
That's GRIT. No hype. No overthinking.
Just a place where you don't get to disappear from the things you said you'd do.
Discipline becomes
identity.
Most people stop early. GRIT is for the ones who don't.
